50th Anniversary Gala

With a legacy of over 50 years, the Stulberg International String Competition has become a cornerstone in the classical music world. Celebrated for discovering and nurturing top-tier young talent, many past winners have gone on to achieve international recognition and build remarkable careers, solidifying the competition’s reputation as a premier platform for rising stars.
For Stulberg’s 50th Anniversary Gala, the evening will be hosted by Kalamazoo Channel 3 (WWMT) news anchors Andy Dominianni and Jessica Harthorn as the Kalamazoo community celebrates fifty years of Stulberg’s rich history.
The event will begin at 6:30 P.M. with a cocktail hour featuring live music by Barry Ross and Terry Lower. In addition to hors d’oeuvres, guests can expect to enjoy a signature cocktail made specially for this milestone event.
At 7:00 P.M., guests will enjoy an elegant dinner with options for meat, fish, or vegetarian entrees, paired with fine wines.
The evening’s highlight will be at 8:00 P.M. with an exclusive musical presentation by Lucas Richman, a distinguished 2025 Stulberg judge, who will provide a preview of a newly commissioned concerto composed in honor of the competition’s remarkable milestone.
Richman will be joined on stage by Mitchell Newman, a 2021 Stulberg judge, for a collaborative and intimate performance that promises to be both celebratory and memorable. This special performance will serve as a fitting tribute to the Stulberg Competition’s enduring legacy and its continued impact on the world of classical music.
Following the performance at 8:30 P.M., the evening will conclude with a cocktail service and dessert bar with coffee.
