To submit your application for the Stulberg International String Competition, be sure to follow the guidelines listed below.
Applications that do not adhere to instructions may forfeit consideration for the Competition.

Applications for the 2027 Stulberg Competition will open October 19, 2026 and will close February 1, 2027.
Applications and materials must be submitted online via the Acceptd portal. Paper applications and outside media submissions are not permitted.
The application fee is a nonrefundable $150 USD payable via credit card.
Applicants will be notified with results no later than March 15, 2027. All applicants will receive notice of their application status.
Please submit an unedited video file (with audio) of a performance of a single piece with piano or live orchestra accompaniment. You may submit either one or multiple movements of the piece. Submitting files featuring multiple pieces will be disqualified.
Your video submission must be no longer than 20 minutes in length. Submissions exceeding 20 minutes will be disqualified. There is no minimum length requirement. All repertoire must be performed from memory.
All repertoire must be originally written as a significant solo work for violin, viola, cello, or bass with orchestra. This includes concerti and also solo works such as Bloch’s Shelomo, Tchaikovsky’s Rococco Variations, Ravel’s Tzigane, etc. For questions pertaining to repertoire, please contact us.
IMPORTANT: Repertoire submitted in the application will be the repertoire performed in the Competition Semifinal round, if selected. No substitutions or changes to the repertoire are permitted.
Omit lengthy tuttis, both in the introduction and the body of the movement(s), if applicable.
Your video submission must have been recorded within 12 months of the current application deadline (on or after February 1, 2026).
The recording must be accompanied by piano or live orchestra. Submissions with digital accompaniment will be disqualified.
Do not include any personal information on your application video (i.e. name, school, teacher). Submissions that feature identifying information will be disqualified. We recommend removing any subtitles, lower-thirds, or text effects to be safe.
