Application Guidelines
Applications for the 2026 Competition open October 15, 2025.
Deadline for submitting applications is February 1, 2026 (11:59 p.m. EST).
Application Form, audition video and application fee must be submitted online at https://app.getacceptd.com/stulberg. Paper applications or CDs will not be accepted.
Application fee is $150 USD payable via credit card only.
Repertoire Guidelines
- The submitted piece must have been originally written to be performed as solo violin/viola/cello/bass, with orchestra. This includes concertos and solo works such as Bloch’s Shelomo, Tchaikovsky’s Rococco Variations, Ravel’s Tzigane, etc.
- You may submit either single or multiple movements of a single piece depending on length.
- Your audition submission should include the same movement(s) you will play for the semifinals, if selected. No substitutions allowed.
- Cut lengthy tuttis, both in the introduction and in the body of the movement, if applicable.
Guidelines for Uploading Audition Video
- Do not include your name or any identification on the video itself. Applicants will be automatically disqualified if their name appears at any point in the video.
- Your video submission must have been recorded within 12 months of the application deadline.
- Audition submissions and semifinals concerto performances are limited to a maximum of 20 minutes. There is no minimum length requirement.
- The recording must be accompanied by piano or orchestra.
