Euisun Hong is a 17-year-old violinist from the San Francisco Bay Area. He began violin at the age of 6 and currently studies with Wenyi Shih at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre College. A winner of the YoungArts National Competition, Euisun has received top prizes from the MTNA California state competition, United States International Music Competition, and has soloed with KAMSA Youth Symphony Orchestra. He has been a member of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra since 2022 and is currently in his second year as a co-concertmaster. Euisun has participated in various summer programs such as the Encore
Music Academy, NYO2 as the concertmaster for the World Orchestra Week Festival, and the Yellow Barn Young Artists Program. This summer, he will be part of NYO-USA on their European tour and the Chamber Music Northwest’s Young Artist Institute.
As an avid chamber musician, Euisun joined the Young Chamber Musicians in Burlingame, California as a violinist of the Aves Piano Trio. In 2025, his trio won the gold medal and Horowitz Piano Trio Prize in the junior division of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. His trio also won the first and grand prize in the junior division of the 11th Coltman Chamber Music Competition, for which they were invited to perform at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center in New York City.
Euisun has appeared on National Public Radio’s From the Top show with his trio.
